The Traffic Benchbook-Third Edition is a three-volume set. Volume 1 contains an overview of Michigan traffic law, procedures for traffic civil infraction cases, the elements of common traffic civil infractions, and the elements of common traffic misdemeanors. Volume 2 contains chapters on offenses involving off-road vehicles, snowmobiles, and watercraft. Volume 3 addresses "drunk driving" offenses and procedure, driving with a suspended license, and common felony traffic offenses.

MJI also publishes a companion volume, the Juvenile Traffic Benchbook-Revised Edition.

The previous edition of this publication was funded by a grant provided by the Michigan Department of State Police, Office of Highway Safety Planning.
