Domestic Relations MattersThis section provides general information about divorce, family support, paternity, custody, parenting time, child support, and spousal support. The information provided in the Self-Help Center is not legal advice. The laws of Michigan do not allow the employees of the court or the judge to give you legal advice. You should consult with an attorney concerning legal issues, but you do not need an attorney to file a domestic relations case or a motion to enforce or change something in an order entered in a domestic relations case. If you proceed with a domestic relations matter without an attorney, you are acting as your own attorney and this Self-Help Center may help you with the legal process. There are three general types of family law cases: divorce, family
support, and paternity. Each of these case types may include matters
about custody, support, parenting time, property, and other issues.
Any of these matters or cases may be mediated. For detailed information
about these matters, select from the topics below: Child and Spousal Support (including property division) >> |
