Trial Court Collections - Collections Advisory Committee

To improve collections, then Chief Justice Maura Corrigan convened a Collections Advisory Committee in 2004. The Supreme Court approved the committee's recommended collections strategy in 2005. Under this Supreme Court-approved strategy, all state trial courts will have a collections program in place in 2009. This strategy includes communication, education, training, data collection, identification of best practices, and pilot programs.

The approved strategy also included reconstituting the committee to include more trial court administrative staff and a broader statewide representation. As a result, four regional subcommittees were convened and charged with implementing the approved statewide collections strategy.
