When the Court Can Order Parenting Time
The law allows the court to order parenting time only in certain types of cases.
- The types of cases in which the court can order parenting time include: Divorce, Family Support, Paternity, and Custody.
- The court cannot order parenting time in a case that was started to enforce another states child support order.
- If the court cannot order parenting time in the existing case, a parent can obtain a court order for parenting time by starting a new, separate case.
