FY 2009 Michigan Drug Court Grant Program (MDCGP)

The purpose of the Michigan Drug Court Grant Program is to provide funding assistance to jurisdictions to help with planning and implementation of new drug courts and continuation of funding for drug court programs that are currently operational.

Below is the FY 2009 Michigan Drug Court Grant Program (MDCGP) application. Grant applications are due at the State Court Administrative Office in Lansing by 5:00 p.m. on Friday, May 16, 2008.

Grants to Expand Substance Abuse Treatment in Adult Criminal Justice Populations

The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) will award $2.7 million in grants to reduce alcohol and other drug abuse among individuals involved in the criminal justice system.

Up to seven grants, maximum $400,000 each, will be awarded to nonprofits and public agencies that provide treatment services in communities with serious emerging drug problems and those using innovative methods to address unmet needs.

"The purpose of this program is to expand and/or enhance the community's ability to provide a comprehensive, integrated, and community-based response to a targeted, well-documented substance abuse treatment capacity problem and/or improve the quality and intensity of services for adult individuals in the community who are involved with the criminal justice system," according to SAMHSA.

Application Deadline: May 2, 2008.
